Organization and Program Description:
Para Los Niños, a local non-profit organization with a mission to empower and engage Latino families to transform communities and create more opportunities for academic and life success for every Latino student, seeks a qualified bilingual Youth Coordinator to lead the After School Program in High School aged classrooms and promote school success for Latino children.
The Youth Coordinator Assistant and the Youth Coordinator works with High School Aged children and provides academic support for students from 9th to 12th grade. Students receive individualized help with homework, as well as supplemental activities to boost math and reading skills. Exploration of pathways for higher education or other alternatives for life success is also offered to students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help Youth Coordinator, provide a safe and enriching learning environment for 10 to 25 students grades 9 to 12 develop, teach, and facilitate lessons. Work with the Youth Organizer in zoom sessions and in-person activities.
- Connect and communicate with parents, caregivers, and families
- Other admin-related duties: class reports, attendance tracking, reading tracking, book logs, attendance to staff meetings, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual and bicultural Spanish-English required
- High School age teaching experience or equivalent experience
- First Aid and CPR certification before beginning to teach
- Lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
Equivalent experience will be considered:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, and Word.
- Ability to develop meaningful relationships with youth and their parents/caregivers.
- Be flexible, self-motivated, able to work well in a team environment as well as independently, and have great communication skills.

Position Overview
The Community Organizer will develop a small group of dedicated PLN parent leaders to listen deeply to
community concerns, gather the support of allies, gain advocacy and organizing skills, and work together to transform school policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build a base rapport with Para Los Niños parents, alumni, and community members through PLN parent leadership programming, one-on-one relationship building, community events, workshops, and other engagement and outreach opportunities.
- Form a Parent Leadership Team composed of current and former PLN parents who will work together to advocate for improved policies and practices within local schools. The Leadership Team will also lead and engage the larger PLN community in social change opportunities.
- Develop the leadership of PLN parent leaders through ongoing support and training. Assess personal investment of leaders and potential leaders by connecting them with meaningful opportunities to use their skills and talents in service of collectively determined goals.
- Support parent leaders to create a network of engaged community allies who are educated on issues impacting PLN families and mobilized to offer support to PLN campaigns.
- Support parent leaders to develop community listening surveys to gather information about the issues most impacting our community.
- Assess and create strategic plans for PLN organizing campaigns, focusing on parent- and community-determined goals. Support parent leaders to determine targets, tactics, winnable outcomes, and outreach plans.
- Collaborate with other PLN Community Organizer to integrate campaign and leadership development work into current PLN parent empowerment programming.
Leadership Programs
- Represent PLN within relevant community coalitions and networks addressing social justice and other interconnected issues impacting PLN families, such as workers’ rights, tenants’ rights, immigrants’ rights, and healthcare.
- Run parent-led direct actions to support Leadership Team organizing goals.
- Stay aware and updated on policy issues impacting PLN families and create meaningful ways for PLN parents to engage and respond.
- Support PLN civic engagement work such as voter participation by working with PLN community allies.
- Track program participation and information, with assurance of complete confidentiality for all PLN families.
- Communicate with the Program Manager regarding program needs, issues, developments and any additional support needed to complete program goals.
- Develop and maintain communications and social media plan to support Leadership Team, community events, and organizing campaigns as they develop.
- Support PLN programs and special events, including fundraising, funding reports, and information for grant writing.
Qualifications:
- At least five years of community organizing experience, especially in the Latinx community and in South King County.
- 100% bilingual in both English and Spanish: writing, reading, and speaking.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly

- Possess strong communication skills and have experience in public speaking, especially with a wide diversity of audiences, in both Spanish and English.

Position Overview
PLN seeks a qualified bilingual Parent from the community to support the creation of a Latino Parents of LGBTQIA+ Support Group to coordinate families’ participation in empathic discussion and social support circles. The Coordinator must possess awareness and sensitivity to the cultural differences and unique challenges faced by various subgroups within the LGBTQIA+community. The Coordinator will develop a small group of dedicated PLN parents of LGBTQIA+youth, that possess empathy and compassion, understanding and can validate the experiences and emotions while listening deeply to each individual’s process and needs. At the same time providing space to share judgment free and
honestly about experiences, separating participants behavior from the individual sharing their story from their perspective. Thus allowing each individual to express what they wish respectfully and without judgment or unsolicited advice.
The LGBTQIA+ Parent Coordinator will address concerns, gather the support of allies, gain advocacy and organizing skills, and work with the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build a base rapport with Para Los Niños parents of LGBTQIA+ identifying children, alumni, and community members through PLN parent leadership programming, relationship building, community events, workshops, and other engagement and outreach opportunities.
- Form an LGBTQIA+ Parent Support Group of PLN parents of LGBTQIA+ identifying children who will collaborate to work towards improved practices within local families. The Support Group will also hold space and mediate the parents in the PLN community by first addressing individual parents’ personal processes.
- Develop the empathy of PLN parents of LGBTQIA+ identifying children through ongoing support and training. Assess personal investment of parents and potential leaders by connecting them with meaningful opportunities to build their mindfulness in service of the LGBTQIA+ youth.
- Support parents from the group to create a network of engaged parent allies who actively listen and inform the group on issues impacting PLN families.
- Hold empathic respectful space for parents sharing their experiences as
- parents of Latinx LGBTQIA+ children.
Leadership Programs
- Track program enrollment, active participation and information, with assurance of complete confidentiality for all PLN families.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Manager regarding program needs, issues, developments and any additional support needed to complete program goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- At least three years of attentive listening experience, especially in the Latinx community and in South King County.
- 100% bilingual in both English and Spanish: writing, reading, and speaking.
- Have first hand experience (preferably as a parent) of LGBTQIA+ child

Para Los Niños de Highline (PLN) is seeking an Operations Manager to join our dedicated team. The Operations Manager will support the Executive Director and staff by overseeing a variety of administrative, operational, and office management tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating communication, supporting PLN programs, and maintaining office systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Support & Communication:
- Screen and prioritize mail/email, managing daily communications.
- Support the ED and EA in scheduling meetings, appointments, and follow-ups. For the federal and state reports and private foundations reports
- Manage the calendar, tracking report due dates, application deadlines.
- Prepare and organize reports, memos, letters, and other documents.
- Communicate with the ED regarding needs, developments, and additional support required.
Program & Event Support:
- Assist in the coordination and support of PLN programs and special events, including managing data entry and logistical tasks.
- Manage shopping and procurement for all PLN programs and events.
- Ensure meeting venues, room reservations, and related logistics are handled.
- Maintain office equipment (e.g., copiers) and supplies for all PLN programs.
- Update official documents and send necessary grant and program information for required reports (annual, quarterly, semi-annual).
- Keep track of the Grant calendar and manage financial information for program-related expenses.
Office Management:
- Provide administrative support to the ED, staff, and Board Members, including coordination for meetings and events.
- Process invoices, donations, and payments, ensuring financial records are up to date.
- Handle payroll submissions, petty cash, and bank deposits.
- Prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations and maintain personnel and financial records.
- Develop procedures and training to ensure accuracy and quality of information within office systems.
- Serve as the primary contact for building management, insurance, technical support staff, and vendors.
- Oversee office safety, emergency procedures, and legal compliance to ensure all necessary paperwork is filed timely.
- Manage office materials, including organizing files and recommending systems for increased efficiency.
- Proactively identify office needs, offering recommendations for improvements to the ED.
Additional Administrative Support:
- Manage and oversee community room reservations and related scheduling.
- Assist with event planning, preparation, and coordination as needed.
