Students and Families Celebrate the End of the 2024–2025 School Year at Para Los Niños de Highline

Learn Together

With heartfelt graduation ceremonies, students and their families celebrated the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year. Programs such as Learn Together, Playing and Learning, Adult Computer Classes, the Latinx Youth Program, and Coding successfully came to an end, highlighting the achievements, learning experiences, and goals accomplished by each participant throughout the year.

We thank the students, teachers, families, partners, and school staff for their continuous support, which made possible a year full of growth, learning, and new opportunities for our community.

Play & Learn

Para Los Niños’ youngest students joyfully celebrated their academic achievements alongside their parents and guardians. During the ceremonies held on their class days, families shared moments filled with excitement and emotion as the children prepared to begin a new educational stage.

With caps, gowns, and a special celebration, the children said goodbye to the program alongside their classmates, taking with them new experiences and lessons that strengthen their social-emotional skills while encouraging their creativity, curiosity, and love for learning.

Adult Computer Classes

With great pride, 23 students received their certificates of completion for Levels 1 and 2 of the Computer Classes program. During an emotional ceremony, joined by classmates, instructors, and staff, participants celebrated the knowledge and skills they gained throughout the program.

Students learned everything from the basic parts of a computer to designing presentations, creating Zoom meetings, browsing websites, and sending emails, strengthening their technological skills for everyday life.

We congratulate these new digital leaders, who with dedication and perseverance attended their classes every Tuesday, recognizing the importance of gaining technological tools that help them face the challenges of today’s world with greater confidence.

Coding

Participants learned how to create websites and develop video games through coding. They also explored the use of artificial intelligence to ask questions and receive support for their projects, including the idea of launching merchandise by using AI to generate concepts, images, and creative details that helped them design their products.

Latinx Youth & Internship Program

In this program, youth learned how to play chess under the guidance of an experienced instructor. They also participated in cultural art activities and mind games that strengthened their social-emotional development. In addition, students had the opportunity to receive guidance throughout the scholarship application process for their studies.

As part of their holistic development, participants also engaged in community service activities, including neighborhood clean-up efforts, fostering social responsibility and a stronger commitment to their community.

Sixteen 11th- and 12th-grade students completed their internship program after four months of working alongside the Para Los Niños team. The goal of this experience was to strengthen their academic development and provide them with key professional tools for their future entry into the workforce.

During this period, participants gained hands-on experience in grassroots nonprofit organizing initiatives, while also strengthening their interpersonal, educational, and leadership skills. In addition, they developed tools and techniques to design and implement community projects focused on solving everyday issues, always under the guidance of the organization’s staff. This allowed them to build confidence, self-assurance, and the ability to propose adaptable solutions by applying critical thinking and initiative.

The students also had the opportunity to become involved in different areas of the organization, choosing those that best aligned with their interests and future academic and professional goals.

The program was complemented by educational workshops focused on professional development, including job interview preparation, resume writing for employment and college applications, as well as strategies to increase opportunities for successful interviews. In addition, learning visits were organized in collaboration with the Port of Seattle, the King County Elections Department, Mojito, and Highline College. We extend our gratitude to these institutions for opening their doors and sharing valuable knowledge and experiences with the students about their work, opportunities, and the important role each institution plays.

Thanks to their commitment and dedication, these students complete this stage with new tools and essential skills that will help them continue growing personally, academically, and professionally.
