🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 Our local nonprofit had an amazing team-building day in Downtown Seattle! We were inspired by incredible guest speakers who shared their stories of making a positive impact. Interactive workshops strengthened our abilities as a team,we wrapped up the evening with some thrilling games of bowling and pool. Laughter, friendly competition, and camaraderie filled the air, creating memories that will strengthen our bond as a team. It was the perfect way to cap off a day of inspiration, learning, and growth.

We recently celebrated a commemorative and inspiring week filled with multiple graduation ceremonies. From the little ones in our Early Learning programs to the dedicated individuals in our High School Programming Club, our fearless Adult Computer Lab graduates, our Aprendamos Juntos graduates and our talented Interns, each milestone was celebrated with joy and pride. Join us as we reflect on this incredible week, highlighting the achievements of our graduates and the impact of our programs. 700 families in our community this year were a part of this week’s recognitions. Each new student graduating is a mission accomplished for para Los Ninos de Highline. We could not be prouder of our 2023 graduates.
Early Learning Program Graduations:
Our Early Learning programs, designed for children aged 2 to 5, create a nurturing environment that fosters early learning and development. Throughout the week, we witnessed these bright young minds take their first steps toward learning essential skills and becoming lifelong learners. The graduations were filled with laughter, applause, and the sheer joy of seeing these children grow and thrive under our care.
High School Programming Club Graduation:
Para Los Niños de Highline believes in empowering youth with the tools and skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world. Our programming club provides young individuals with opportunities to learn coding, web development, and other digital skills. The graduation ceremony for our highschoolers programming club members was a testament to their hard work, dedication, creativity and the transformative power of education. As they received their certificates, we felt a sense of pride in their accomplishments and excitement for the bright futures just around the corner.
Adult Computer Lab:
In the Adult Computer Lab, participants learn a wide range of skills, including creating an email account, sending emails, accessing their child’s school website, and even mastering online communication platforms like Zoom. We understand that these skills are crucial for adults to stay connected, access resources, and support their children’s education. The program is designed to accommodate learners of all levels, whether they are beginners or have some prior experience with computers. Our dedicated instructors provide patient and individualized instruction, guiding participants through hands-on activities and practical exercises. Graduates of the program gain not only technical skills but also increased confidence and agency, enabling them to navigate the digital landscape with ease. Celebrating the accomplishments of our Adult Computer Lab graduates during our week of graduations was truly special. Witnessing their growth in patience, creativity, and curiosity was a beautiful sight. We celebrate each graduate’s willingness to step out of their comfort zone and embrace new technologies, knowing that these skills will enhance their lives and open doors to new opportunities.
Aprendamos Juntos:
Aprendamos Juntos is designed to address community needs more broadly through an inclusive model of lifelong education across generations, an approach that strengthens both children and their families. While the children did their homework, parents attended English classes as part of the parallel learning approach. Para Los Niños de highline was grateful to celebrate the graduation of over 100 participating pairs. In this program, the holistic nature of PLN’s approach is noted, making the intergenerational graduation especially meaningful. Building culturally relevant programs upon a foundation of love and respect, supported by a community leadership model that recognizes the talents and skills of each individual student is something we should all be able to celebrate.
Intern Graduations:
Our internship program offers valuable real-world experience and mentorship to youth & teens, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen careers. The intern graduations marked a significant milestone in their professional journeys, celebrating their growth and achievements during their time with us. We were deeply moved by their determination, passion, and commitment to making a positive impact on their communities.
Throughout the week of graduations, there were many emotional moments that touched our hearts. Parents shedding tears of joy, mentors beaming with pride, and the overwhelming sense of accomplishment radiating from our graduates created an atmosphere of celebration and unity. We had the privilege of hearing vulnerable heartfelt testimonials from parents, mentors, and graduates themselves, highlighting the profound impact of our programs on their lives.
As we look back on this week of graduations, we are filled with renewed focus and enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility. The success and growth of our graduates inspire us to continue our mission of fostering academic success for every latino student through parent and community involvement. We remain committed to providing quality education, mentorship, and equitable support and advocacy to inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

Con la primavera y temporada de alergias a la vuelta de la esquina, queríamos compartir y destacar estos importantes Recursos de Salud Comunitaria.
Aquí en PLN nos enorgullecemos de conectar a la comunidad Latina con recursos de atención médica de alta calidad. Tenemos 4 promotoras de Salud certificadas por el departamento de salud en el estado de Washington.
Estas promotoras conectan a una variedad de servicios de salud, que incluyen atención dental de emergencia, vacunas contra la influenza y el COVID-19 y servicios médicos, entre otros.
Estos recursos se han generado gracias a los resultados de nuestro Programa Piloto que se realizó en el 2022 y brindan recursos increíbles a la comunidad latina al garantizar que tengan acceso a servicios de atención médica que de otro modo estarían fuera de alcance. Entendemos que todos merecen acceso a una atención médica de calidad, independientemente de su situación económica, y estamos comprometidos a hacerlo realidad.
Nos complace invitarlos a participar en los próximos eventos, incluyendo una clínica dental (solo con cita) el 15 de abril, donde se haran chequeos, limpiezas y tratamientos dentales de emergencia. Además una clínica de vacunación contra la influenza y el COVID-19 el 21 de abril. Finalmente, nos gustaría informarle sobre la Clínica del condado de Seattle/King del 27 al 30 de abril, que ofrecerá servicios médicos, dentales y de la vista gratuitos a quienes los necesiten.

Community Health Resource Program
With spring and allergy season just around the corner, we wanted to share and highlight these important Community Health Resources.
Here at PLN we pride ourselves on connecting the Latino community with high-quality healthcare resources. We have 4 health promoters certified by the health department in the state of Washington.
These promoters connect to a variety of health services, including emergency dental care, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, and medical services, among others.
These resources have been generated thanks to the results of our Pilot Program that took place in 2022 and provide incredible resources to the Latino community by ensuring that they have access to health care services that would otherwise be out of reach. We understand that everyone deserves access to quality health care, regardless of their financial situation, and we are committed to making it happen.
We are pleased to invite you to participate in upcoming events, including a dental clinic (by appointment only) on April 15, where emergency dental checkups, cleanings and treatment will be provided. In addition, a vaccination clinic against influenza and COVID-19 on April 21. Finally, we would like to tell you about the Seattle/King County Clinic from April 27-30, which will offer free medical, dental and vision services to those who need them.

This year, we were able to assist the families registered in our programs by providing toys to their children between the ages of 6 months to 18 years old. Now, more than ever, it’s important for children to have toys to keep their spirits high as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times.
The Tres Lecheria has partnered with Para Los Niños for several years to host a toy drive for our families. While this was ISCSORE’s and Colors Spanish Immersion Pre-School’s first year participating, we are grateful for their support.
Este año, pudimos ayudar a las familias registradas en nuestros programas proporcionando juguetes a sus hijos que tienen 6 meses a 18 años. Ahora, más que nunca, es importante que los niños tengan juguetes para mantener el ánimo mientras continuamos adaptándonos en estos tiempos difíciles.
Tres Lechería ha colaborado con Para Los Niños durante varios años para organizar una colecta de juguetes para nuestras familias. Este fue el primer año de colaboración con ISCSORE y Colors Spanish Immersion Pre-School.

At this year’s virtual gala, Floreciendo 2020, we debuted a video showcasing the work we do in South King County to uplift the Latinx community.
We want to thank Resource Media for coming out to our Burien office to film this and for providing the captions to the video so that it can be accessible to all and serve as a bilingual model for all social justice groups.
